ADAMJEE INSURANCE COMPANY LTD

Incorporated in 1960, AIC is the largest insurance company in Pakistan and undertakes all types of general insurance. Amongst the insurance companies in the country, AIC enjoys a unique position, both in terms of premium income and assets, as well as a growth rate that is unparalleled in Pakistan.

AIC employs over 1,500 people and has a network of branches and representative offices throughout Pakistan. Over the years, it has become the leader and innovator in providing cover to hitherto non-insurable risks. Over the years, AIC established overseas offices in UAE, Saudi Arabia and UK.
 
Mr. M. Hanif Adamjee was the Chairman of AIC, up until the family sold a majority of its shareholding, in 2004.

ADAMJEE CORPORATION​ (PVT) LTD

The holding company of the M. H. Adamjee group, this corporation holds shares in most of the group’s companies.

Initially incorporated in 1949 as Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds in Pakistan Ltd., this was a subsidiary of G.K.N. PLC, U.K. In 1963 the company established a factory on an area measuring 340,000 sq. ft. in Karachi. In 1986, the M. H. Adamjee group took over majority shareholdings from G.K.N. and changed its name to Adamjee Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

In 1986, the Hanif Adamjee Group bought over an existing pharmaceuticals company by the name of Samco Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd, and later (in 1988), changed the name to Adamjee Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd (APL). APL has been consistently ranked amongst the top 10% of the pharmaceuticals companies in Pakistan since the turn of the century.

In 1987, CEL commenced mining operations in the Baluchistan and KPK provinces of Pakistan, for the extraction of chrome ore. Over the years, production has been geared mainly towards the export of high grade metallurgical and refractory grade ores to China, Japan, South Korea and Europe, as well as local supplies to the domestic chemical industries. 

Chempro Pakistan (CPP) is a joint venture between the M.H. Adamjee Group and the Chempro Group. Chempro is a member of the Quest Group, an international group of companies with over 40 years experience in the metals and chemicals industry. Chempro head office is in Switzerland, technical office in the U.K., with running plants in Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and Pakistan.
