CHEMPRO PAKISTAN (PVT) LTD

Chempro Pakistan (CPP) is a joint venture between the M. H. Adamjee Group and the Chempro Group. Chempro is a member of the Quest Group, an international group of companies with over 40 years experience in the metals and chemicals industry. Chempro head office is in Switzerland, technical office in the U.K., with running plants in Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and Pakistan.

Chempro specializes in manufacturing metal based chemicals. Customers benefit from Chempro’s unique Full Cycle raw materials management system. This is an integrated system that offers users a host of economic benefits and an environmentally friendly method to handle waste streams. All products and residues are handled and processed in strict compliance with the world’s most stringent environmental, health and safety standards, irrespective of location. All facilities are ISO 9002 certified.

The CPP plant in Karachi was commissioned in February 1999, starting commercial production the following month. CPP entered into a long term contract with ICI Pakistan Ltd (now Lotte Chemical Pakistan Ltd) for supply of catalyst to their PTA plant in Port Qasim. It manufactures “CMB” (Cobalt Manganese acetate Bromide solution) in two forms – PCMB (Prime CMB) and RCMB (Regenerated CMB), and is one of the few plants possessing the technology to recycle this product from PTA waste. CMB is a liquid catalyst, essential for the production of PTA (Pure Terepthalic Acid), the principle raw material for manufacture of polyester fibre.

A state-of-the-art laboratory ensures that CPP’s quality of not only the final product, but also raw materials and intermediaries are kept in constant check. The result of this philosophy of exceptionally strict quality control is the fact that CPP has never received even one complaint from its customer on quality (or on any other matter). Since its commissioning, CPP has supplied its customer on a 100% exclusive and uninterrupted basis for more than two and a half decades. In 2009, M. H. Adamjee Group bought over the shares of the Chempro Group and is now 100% shareholder of CPP.
